"Gideon the Ninth" by Tamsyn Muir
Review by Kate

Listen, I would give anything to wipe my mind and experience this book as if for the first time. Since I cannot do that, I will settle for rereading it and making sure that you do not leave here without it. Maybe you gravitate towards some of the following: queer longing, necromancy, swordsmanship, intergalactic politics, poorly timed pop culture references, cosmic whodunnits, and intricate puzzles. Maybe you like the idea of a darkly funny, epic space opera that is a mess of complex body horror and increasingly tragic romances. No matter what compels your curiosity, I am begging you to pick this book up and put it in your basket. Let Tamsyn Muir ruin your life. It will be the best choice you ever make.
